POET AND POLITICAL EDITOR

"When power corrupts, poetry cleanses," said John F. Kennedy. Political, urban or environmental, my poetry has been published widely in anthologies in South Africa from 1987, in Great Britain and elsewhere from 1991. From 1994 I have appeared in successive editions of the International Who's Who in Poetry and Poet's Encyclopaedia (Europa Publications).

As Editor for the Civil Rights League in Cape Town in the 1980's, I produced its quarterly international newsletter, published its conference proceedings on "A South African Bill of Rights", plus responded to political issues and wrote for the following national newspapers: Cape Times, The Argus, Weekly Mail.

FEATURE WRITER

The varied and developing themes in science and medicine explored in my journalism include topics of contemporary importance. Examples are: "Brain Mapping" research in California; European advancements in "Crash-test Dummies"; the forensics of "Solving Murder with Maggots"; newly discovered secrets of "Graphite Polyhedral Crystals"; the best-ever photographed panorama of "The Milky Way", etc.

Occasionally I branch into otherwise quite divergent areas such as an illustrated feature on "The Ice Hotel" set in the Arctic circle of Sweden; or a profile on the award-winning veteran British beat poet Michael Horovitz titled "Reward for Latter-day Troubadour".

These features in particular have found publication in such national and international titles as the: Chemistry Review, Guardian, Jewish Chronicle, MJA News, Reader's Digest, SPL syndicated features.
